It’s that time of the year again where we are all already thinking about our summer bodies. Let’s face it 2020 has been a year of hibernation for everyone and we would all love to get back into a normal routine but maybe that’s just not possible for you right now.

How can you maintain a healthy body that you are comfortable in, one that you feel comfortable strutting down the beach in? Well, that’s what we are here for. We want to give you 5 tips to help you get your body summer ready.

1. Drink your water!

We have all heard it a million times before, but sometimes it can be hard to keep on top of your hydration. We need water for digestion, to absorb nutrients, to help us move, get rid of waste products, and to regulate our body temperature. If the body doesn’t have enough water it won’t function as well. We Especially recommend drinking a glass first thing in the morning this will aid your digestion, enhance your skin health, and boost your energy.

2. Sweat every day

This can be accomplished in many forms whether it’s a 30min workout or a 10 minute workout. Whether it’s a bike ride to the shops instead of using your car or dancing around in your kitchen to your favorite music. Sweating helps cool down the body, water is released through glands in the skin, evaporates off the skin and the body is cooled. During exercise, muscles heat up more, so more sweat is needed. By aiming to sweat every day, even if it’s just a little it will help you towards your summer body goal.

3. Fill Half Your Plate with Veggies

Most of us when trying to live a healthier lifestyle may think that it means starving yourself but that’s far from the truth. Non-starchy vegetables are low in calories but packed with nutrients, fiber and water so by filling half your Lunch/dinner plate with veggies you will be left feeling full and satisfied all as well as nourished and healthy.

4. Shop on a full stomach

We have all been there, you go to the shop for one thing but as soon as you walk inside the shop you are drawn to everything you don’t need. When your hungry your more likely to walk around and buy things you don’t need, and let’s face it most of the time you will be drawn to the foods that aren’t so healthy for you.

5. Treat yourself

Don’t forget to treat yourself. Your body needs the time to relax and let go of tension, especially around this time of the year. It’s been proven that you’re more likely to hold onto unwanted weight if your stressed, so slow down. The best way to do this is to get a massage, here at Massage One we specialise in our unique M1 Lymphatic Method which is not only highly relaxing but also reduces bloating and fluid retention and increases energy plus so much more. We also offer many other treatments that will help you lose any tension such as Dry Needling, M1 Lymphatic Healing Cleanse, Remedial massage, and more.
