Why Lymphatic Drainage is so important

circle

The Lymphatic System is a part of our body that most of us never think about or even take notice of. But unknowingly it’s an integral part of our body and is something that needs to be looked after for us to feel healthy and energetic.

What is the Lymphatic System

The human body accumulates all sorts of waste and toxins that it must remove to stay healthy. The lymphatic system is the network of various organs, tissues, and vessels that keep the body clean and has the duty of absorbing fatty acids and fats for nutrients.

Though it is part of the circulatory system instead of circulating blood, the lymphatic system transfers a liquid called lymph, which performs various helpful tasks including returning proteins to the bloodstream and transporting bacteria to be destroyed, as well as detoxifying the body.

Why does the lymphatic system need maintenance?

Due to our lifestyle, toxins and the environment, our Lymph nodes can very easily become blocked. The lymphatic system needs to work efficiently to help rid the body’s excess fluid and toxins.

If the Lymph nodes are blocked this can cause bloating, fatigue, restricted range of motion, aching or discomfort, recurring infections, depression, and brain fog. We may experience these symptoms from time to time without realising it could be linked to our Lymphatic system.

What does Lymphatic Drainage do to help this?

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage that eliminates toxins and fluid from the body via the Lymphatic system, which then comes away in your waste in the next 24 hours. During your treatment, we will activate your Lymph nodes and then gently massage towards the Lymph nodes. This leaves you feeling lighter all over, less bloated, more energetic, bright, happy and left with a more even skin tone.
